Ben Small
An honors graduate from Indiana University and an experienced trial lawyer, Ben F. Small has over thirty years experience handling complex antitrust, litigation and other legal matters worldwide for Fortune 500 companies. After taking early retirement in 2002, he divides his time between teaching at major universities, conducting arbitrations and consulting on antitrust and other legal issues. While ALIBI ON ICE is Mr. Small's first novel, he has been a frequent contributor to various legal publications, and has a second suspense thriller, one set in Morocco, Spain and New York City, in pre-publication production . He lives with his wife, two monster dogs and an alpha female cat in Sedona, AZ.
Ben was first attracted to Mount Rainier in 1980, when he was in Seattle for a two week federal court trial. Cresting a hill on a rare clear day in January , he saw ahead what he first took to be an enormous cloud formation. As realization dawned, Ben was awestruck, and pulled his car over to gape. Deep within him an obsession was stirring. He finally crested the summit in 1983 and has been back many times since. Once born, Ben says, the Rainier spirit never dies. He is currently working on a sequel to ALIBI ON ICE, once again set on magnificent Mount Rainier.
